We are pleased to have supported NCVO and Local Government Association to support the publication of Purposeful Collaboration - a ‘playbook’ for the new Procurement Act 2023.

The purpose of this guide is to build greater collaboration between councils and the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector using the full flexibilities of the Procurement Act 2023 and the wider commissioning process. Increasingly complex social and environmental challenges require this collaboration. No single organisation or resource can tackle these challenges alone.

The playbook aims to ensure everyone involved in the commissioning process implement better practices, and seeks to promote principled values-based commissioning that achieves good value for money and better outcomes for people and communities. 

The guidance is designed to help inform those with strategic responsibility for overseeing commissioning, such as local councillors, as well as those directly involved in delivering it.
