Our support on the homelessness charity sector

The report provides valuable insight into the challenges and successes and will help inform our work as a funder going forward. It looks at:

  • How our funding is used and the financial health of charities
  • Development support accessed by our charity partners
  • Challenges the charities are facing
  • Key learnings from our work with the Great Yarmouth Homelessness Alliance

Why focus on housing and homelessness?

This report focused on housing and homelessness charities as they are a long-standing and significant part of our funding portfolio, and broadly representative of the small charities we support – they are often in the eye of the storm and feel the bluntest effects of austerity.

Homelessness also has cross-cutting relevance across our wider work with charities, people and communities through our funding, development support and influencing of local and national policy and practice.

Issues around housing impact people that our charity partners support across many different themes including domestic abuse, refugees and asylum seekers and addiction.
