Join us in showing Government why small charities are needed #RightNow!

Charities are never more needed. But at the same charities, charities are never more challenged. With growing demand and, for many, a financial cliff edge come March, #RightNow charities need support more than ever.

  • Right now, a charity worker is pouring a survivor a cup of tea and helping them start to rebuild their lives after years of abuse.

  • Right now, a homelessness charity volunteer is finding somewhere safe and warm for someone to stay.

  • Right now, a counsellor in a sexual abuse charity is helping someone to process the trauma they’ve experienced.

Thousands of charities up and down the country are making a difference to people’s lives – right now, and day in, day out. The difference they’re making is life-changing, particularly at a time when other support systems may have broken down.

Charities are never more needed. But at the same charities, charities are never more challenged. With growing demand and, for many, a financial cliff edge come March, right now charities need support more than ever.

That’s why we’re calling on Government to set up an Emergency Support Fund right now.

We’re continuing to do what we can, as are so many others – but we don’t have the resources to make sure people can get all the support they need.

With Government support, charities can make sure people get the help they need. They can protect people from exploitation. They can make sure people have enough food to eat. And they can ensure people have the support they need to recover from this pandemic and the challenges it has intensified.

We’re joining organisations and individuals to demonstrate the vital work that charities are doing right now. So much of the vital support provided to people and communities goes largely unrecognised – yet without it, people’s lives, communities, and society would fall apart.

We’d love for you to join us too – sharing how your charity is helping people #RightNow, and how you need support. The more charities involved, the better we can demonstrate how people are being supported by charities.

Like us, you can sign our joint letter to the Prime Minister and support the call for an Emergency Support Fund.

You can also share your story on social media. Or contact your MP or local council. There are lots of ideas and resources on the Never More Needed website to help you get started.

People are relying on charities to help them through. Government provided some support last year, which we welcomed, but it’s not enough. If charities are to keep helping people right now, they need funding. Right now.
