
Kamran Mallick is the Chief Executive of Disability Rights UK, the only UK wide disabled people’s organisation, as well as trustee of large, vibrant theatre the Lyric Hammersmith and small disability charity Wheels for Wellbeing. He has worked in the user led disability community for over 25 years, 15 years of which he has been a CEO of charities dedicated to challenging the barriers that face disabled people.
Beginning his career as an IT trainer, Kamran has a passion and deep understanding of digital and has led significand digital transformation projects in his career and is currently working with industry to make the move from assistive technology to inclusive technology ensuring it’s usable by everyone.
Kamran is an influential leader in the highly politicised area of disability rights. He has represented the UK disability movement at the UN, creating a coalition of civil society organisations. He’s consulted for TFL ensuring that disability is central to their plans policies and future developments as a business and employer. As well as this he has also brokered the divide between big businesses and young disabled adults, setting up internships with companies such as GSK and L’Oréal to coach them into employment.
